Tech blog on permanent hiatus; I don't get paid to blog; I do get paid to program. Tech blogging needs to be paid, generally, in these days of 50+ posts per day per blog and the rise of sites like TechMeme. Yes, Mashable blah blah Cashmore woo hoo TechCrunch yikes LifeHacker throw me a LifePreserver. Paid Links, LinkExchange, Trackbacks, Affiliates, RIP. 

Shoutouts to Mahendra and Rizzn, Daisy, Digidave, Homo Superior, Scobles, Anthony, and my early friends at Vox.com and FriendFeed.com -- and later greader, too many to mention, who were supportive of my sylististic and editorial shifts, to say nothing of my live google maps street view embeds 2-4 to a post coming through their greader streams, triggering maps quota limits and usage spikes most likely. Sorry for that, but it was fun, no? 

Still can't forgive GOOG for the sudden death sentence for all greader "social" features... this folllowed the purchase of FriendFeed talent by Facebook;  It simply isn't the same, and one cannot be forced to use whatever G+ features have been cobbled together. I'm sure the real fault is GOOG's early failing in "social" -- greader was a 20% project with "social" grafted on later -- that forced the early death of greader and everyhing that wouldn't yield to the G+ steamroller.

Back to the topic, here; this. I still consider it a success; I saw the numbers, the long tail, the visitors arriving via search, the satisfaction of being "authoritative" or "popular" on some micro-subject. So long [a premature, but fond farewell] and thanks for all the fish!

Why "Reechard?" My given nickname is pronounced ree-shard. The spelling is a compromise. Walker is an adopted name.  I am fluent in Spanish, speak some French, lived in Europe, play the piano, compose, write, and have many interests beyond "tech" and "coding." I don't have multiple personality disorder, but I do have multiple role (or "brand") issues.
